William Knight

William Knight started his musical career as a chorister of St Paul’s Cathedral, London. He read Music at the University of York, where he was the Tenor Choral Scholar at York Minster, and is now in demand as a soloist and ensemble singer in Europe. He is a founding member of The Windsor Consort and a core member of Het Nederlands Kamerkoor. Some of the many groups that he sings as a soloist and ensemble singer include Collegium Vocale Gent, Het Nederlands Kamerkoor, Capella Amsterdam, Egidius Kwartet, and Capilla Cayrasco. Recent performances include: soloist in Monteverdi’s Vespers conducted by Philippe Herreweghe in a tour and CD recording with Collegium Vocale Gent, tenor soloist in Carmina Burana for the Brabant Koor accompanied by Lucas & Arthur Jussen, Evangelist and tenor soloist for Bach’s Johannes Passie for the Nieuw Bach Ensemble, and Handel’s Israel in Egypt conducted by Richard Egarr for the Nederlands Kamerkoor. As a soloist he has performed in many of the most renowned concert halls in the World, including Het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow, Marrinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg, and Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona.
